Presented by the Fédération québécoise pour le saumon atlantique (FQSA), the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) and in collaboration with Hooké and YETI, the PALM fly fishing festival takes you on a captivating tour through video projects that highlight the richness of the Canadian territory and the diversity of fly-fished species.
Meet our 2027 PALM tour ambassador : Émile David
Fascinated by alternative ways of life, Émile sees filmmaking as a way to fully immerse himself in the worlds that captivate him. Over the course of his 11-year career, he has worked on several television and web series exploring his favourite subject: the relationship between people and nature. He is known for his attentive listening, his eye for meaningful details and his commitment to authenticity.
After winning the last two editions of PALM, Émile becomes the ambassador of the festival’s 10th edition this year. A filmmaker, hunter, angler and outdoor enthusiast, he continues to explore the relationship between people and nature through his projects.
He is the creator of the television and web series La sainte paix (Télémag/YouTube, 2026), a more personal and unconventional project documenting his search for a more balanced life, where adventure can be part of everyday life. Alongside his guests, Émile explores different ways of bringing the things he is passionate about closer to his everyday life.
La Sainte Paix | A series by Emile David
Four years ago, dreaming of a life closer to the things he loved, Émile turned to Centris with four criteria: a body of water where he could fish, public land where he could hunt, hike and forage, a piece of land where he could plant apple trees, and a roof over his head. Through a mix of fate, encounters and real estate algorithms, he eventually found his spot in the Bas-Saguenay region.
One of his first discoveries was that even when the things you love are only five minutes away, time doesn’t magically multiply. With the help of mentors, friends and family, the filmmaker develops his frenetic laboratory of “compact living.” The series follows the twists and turns of an ordinary hunter, angler and forager who, in search of meaning, finds himself—as we all do—trying to do everything at once.
This year, Émile returns to PALM not only as an ambassador, but also as a filmmaker, presenting a film in the festival’s non-competition selection as part of its 10th edition.

Powered by the financial support of the Ministère de l'Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP), as well as the invaluable support of Saumon Québec's partners, the PALM Festival showcases fly fishing through the eyes of local and international videographers.
A space for creators
The video artists selected by the organizing committee will be sharing an impressive $30,000 grant offered by the FQSA. Through their creations, they share much more than images: a passion, a way of life, a culture. All while transporting you to breathtaking locations.
A place to gather
The PALM Festival is also a unique space for fishing enthusiasts, nature and film lovers. It's an opportunity to exchange ideas with committed organizations and to forge links around a shared passion.
Memorable evenings
During the evening screenings, audiences can discover short films of 5 to 15 minutes, made by selected talents. And that's not all! The presenting organizations will also be featured.
